I picked up a load of very old Hawaiian Koa plates, acacia Koa, when one of the local guitar making entities here in Bend, Breedlove, changed ownership again and I guess the new owners decided not to make ukes any more. The plates were in pairs, not complete sets, and were mostly orphan guitar backs. This was quite a few years ago, and the plates were so old they still had markings from back when Kim Breedlove still owned the company, they surmised. You can see some of these in the pictures, in white crayon. I left them on there because they are interesting, not because they refer to anything specific to these sets. Anyway, its old wood with nice color and grain and good figure where applicable.
