Legendary sets from "The Mother" claro walnut log, from a massive old tree that was felled for road expansion back in 2011. I didn't get the whole log, but what I did get has been air drying here in the high desert since then. These are fantastic plates to work with, and have been used by luthiers all over the world very successfully for many years, but nothing can last forever and the supply is getting low now. The figure is strong and tight and the color is rich and deep.......This set has a bookmatched open check near the lower ends of the side plates that has to saw out. There is approx 4 1/4" of good width there, at approx 10 1/2" up from the near ends of the sides. Contact me for close up pics if you like. Priced accordingly.
