So here's the Milky Way run of claro walnut, a couple of sister logs I stepped in back in 2013. The trees were cut from private land, usually called yard trees, in the Willamette Valley, south of Corvallis. Named for the milk chocolate almost backlit glow of the mostly mid tone brown, with some darker streaks as well. These are highly figured plates, easy to work with and stable throughout the resawing process.
