Very tight grained and flakey Oregon White Oak. There's lots of white oak in the PNW but I only cut the very old slow growing tight grained stuff for acoustic plates of any kind. And I'm picky about the way the flake looks, so it needs to be the wispy kind like this, not the really wide wafer stuff. White oak is becoming more accepted for b/s sets as the bog oak stuff coming out of the UK gains in popularity.
