This is old school eastern birdseye with some rolling quilty figure as well. The wood is very dense and the eyes are fairly strong, as the wood is flatsawn, revealing the strongest view of both the eyes and whatever quilt there may be. I just have these mando sets left, the guitar sets I got are long gone. Will make a fabulous mandolin with classic maple reference grade tone.
